Technical Note
Web design refers to the process of creating a website's user interface and includes developing layouts, choosing a color palette and fonts, creating graphics, arranging page elements, and delivering a convenient, aesthetically pleasing user experience.
The main goal of web design is to create an attractive, functional visual representation of the website that matches its goals, target audience, and brand. Key aspects of web design include:
- Layout and composition. Designing layouts for basic web pages, including element placement, navigation, and information structure. A good layout ensures logical content organization and lets users find information easily.
- Color scheme. Choosing a harmonious color palette that matches the brand and creates the desired atmosphere on the website. Colors can be used to highlight important elements, set the mood, and provide contrast for comfortable reading.
- Typography. Choosing fonts and their styles for the website's text content. Well-chosen fonts improve readability, reinforce branding, and create an aesthetically pleasing design.
- Graphics and images. Using graphics, illustrations, and images to enhance the website's visual presentation and convey information. This can include creating logos, illustrations, photos, or icons.
- Responsive design. Designing a website that adapts to different screen sizes and devices, ensuring good usability on mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers.
- User experience (UX). Taking user needs into account, creating an intuitive interface, and ensuring ease of use and effective interaction.
«Creative Bureau 77» develops web design in the following order:
- Defining the brief. First, we hold a meeting with the client to understand their requirements, goals, and expectations for the design. At this stage we clarify the project's key details, such as branding, color scheme, concept, and style.
- Research and analysis. We research the market, analyze competitors, and study the target audience. This helps identify design trends, best practices, and unique solutions that can be applied to the project.
- Concept development. Based on the brief and the analysis, our designers develop a concept for the site's future visual identity. They create sketches, layouts, and prototypes that visualize the website's overall look and structure. At this stage we use Adobe tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Approval and editing: The concepts are presented to the client for review and feedback. The client can propose changes and additions. We make revisions based on the feedback.
- Layout development: After the concept is approved, we create the final website layout, working through elements, colors, fonts, graphics, and other design details.
- Testing and optimization: Once the layout is complete, we test the design on various devices and browsers to check its compatibility and functionality. We then optimize the layout for fast page loading and a better user experience.
- Handing over source files to the client: After final review and approval, the site design is delivered to the client as graphic files (PSD and EPS) and HTML, CSS, and SCSS files.
Communication and collaboration with the client at every stage of the design process are important to us.
Web Design on the Platform
When a site is built on Shopnseo, web design isn't drawing pages from scratch — it's designing the look within a working engine: which blocks appear on the homepage, how cards and listings are structured, how navigation behaves, what the palette and typography look like, and how dark mode looks.
The basic styling options are visible in the template showcase — that's what the Start and Standard tiers get without our involvement. We step in wherever an exclusive look is needed: the Business and Creative tiers.
Prices are on a separate page, our workflow is described in "How We Work". Examples are in our portfolio.
